Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen are a work in progress.
Over a year after the TikToker was arrested on domestic charges following an incident with her boyfriend, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star revealed where their relationship stands today.
"That was definitely our rock bottom, my rock bottom for sure," Taylor—who welcomed son Ever with Dakota earlier this year—exclusively told E! News. "He stood by me with that because he knew everything going on behind closed doors. That was a horrible night and I'm full of regret. Dakota has been at rock bottom himself, so he could totally relate. He was like, 'I want to help you out of this.'"
Taylor pleaded guilty to aggravated assault before reaching a plea deal in the case, and after spending a few years working on their personal issues, the couple have been able to improve their relationship.
"We're good today," the reality star added. "We've learned a lot we're still working through things and therapy. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better for sure."
Since welcoming their first child together, Taylor—who also shares kids Indy and Ocean with ex Tate Paul—noted her and Dakota's bond has gotten stronger.
"It brings you closer, there's this bond," the influencer explained, "but it didn't solve all our problems. A baby doesn't do that. We're not the perfect family and couple because and I always like to be honest that we still struggle. But the goal is to just be there for each other and he's my partner."
And the couple are in no rush to get engaged as they currently have their hands full with a newborn. But as for the possibility of having more children together?
"I would love more kids," the 30-year-old shared. "Dakota wants more as well, but we're taking it one step at a time."
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming now on Hulu. And keep reading to meet the entire cast.
